bacon mozzarella pinwheelsLooking for a quick and easy recipe for your next sporting event? Bacon Mozzarella Pinwheels are an alternative to a Cheddar Pinwheels recipe that Pillsbury released a few years ago.

The difference? These are much better. In fact, the original recipe calls for Cheddar cheese as an ingredient and frankly, we can’t figure out why. Having tried both, it’s a no-brainer. These pinwheels are guaranteed to not last long at your next party, so make plenty. Be warned though.. The guys will be wanting you to host the Superbowl party this next year.

What You Need:
Grab an 8oz can of crescent rolls, 2 tbsps of Ranch dressing (Hidden Valley makes a great fat-free version if you’re trying to keep it healthy), four slices of cooked and crumbled bacon (or 1/4 cup of bacon bits if you’re in to easy), 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and four medium green onions.

How to Cook:
Pre-heat your oven at 350 degrees. Unroll and separate your dough, creating two long rectangles. Seal the edges together by pressing them firmly. Grab that Ranch dressing smear on… right up to each edge. Grab your bacon and sprinkle away. Follow that with the cheese and chopped onions.

Time to roll these pinwheels that you’ve been rockin’. Start with the short end, roll all the way up and cut each into 7 or 8 pieces. Lay some aluminum foil on a cookie sheet (or use coconut oil on your cookie sheet) and cook for 15 minutes.

Serve em’ while they’re warm for best results. If you do have some leftover, these bacon-cheese balls taste amazing when reheated in the microwave.
