Life is short. Your legacy is at stake and the clock is ticking this very minute. What are you doing about it?
Motivation is a word that gets thrown around a lot and if you’re thinking about success in terms of needing to get motivated, you’re failing. Success requires action. It demands that you are working towards your goal right now. Think on it equally as much as you are working on it. Bring your thoughts to life and watch the life-changing impact you have on others and your own life.
Have you always desired to write a book? Wanted to lose fat and get in the best shape of your life? Have a desire to go back to school and get a degree? What’s stopping you? If you’re still sitting on the couch thinking about it, you’re stopping you. Brilliance is built on work and even failed work is a step in the right direction.
Inspiration leads to greater inspiration which leads to success. Can you imagine attaining the highest level of your potential? The world would regard you as a genius. So what stops that from happening? It’s circumstance, fear and the inability to keep moving forward. While you can’t always dictate circumstance, disregarding fear and maintaining motivation are variables that are completely under your control.
Guys like Albert Einstein, Guglielmo Marconi and Nikola Tesla might have had an advantage in being smarter than the average person, but their success was in their diligence. It was having the ability to get up every day and continue working toward a goal. It was pursuing that which they found the greatest interest in. Had the geniuses of past never worked so diligently at attaining their goals, we would not know their names today.
Einstein explained his work as a result of being “passionately curious” and not of having any special talents.
Can you be as smart as Einstein? It’s not likely that you’ll become as smart as Einstein in the field of study that he pursued but it’s not likely he could match you in several areas of interest that you have. Life isn’t about chasing the achievements of those before you. It’s about finding that which makes you great.
How to Find Your Purpose
Getting your ass in gear means understanding your purpose. Without knowing the latter, you’ll never be motivated to engage in the former.
What’s holds your interest? We’re all here for a purpose and following your heart’s desire is instrumental in finding and fulfilling your life purpose. Your DNA is hard-wired in helping you to find your way if you’ll only listen. It’s a sad thing that so many people ignore the calling of their heart, give up on dreams and succumb to more practical life practices they were never intended for.
Quit Accepting Less For Yourself. If you’re working a 9 to 5 factory job that you don’t enjoy because it pays the bills, you’re failing with your life purpose and it won’t get any better until you get your ass in gear. You have to create the change that you want in your life. Do it now.
This isn’t to say that a factory worker is a failed man any more than a rich man is a success. Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal and any man that is following a path that makes him happy is succeeding. A rich man that is unhappy is going to find it equally hard to stay motivated.
Set Personal Expectations Higher
Become the best man you can be by committing to doing the best job you can. Rather it’s a seemingly meaningless task or a labor of love, do your best. It’s part of the success equation and it’s what will set you apart.
Manage expectations appropriately. One more failure is just one step closer to finding a solution.
Getting your ass in gear requires a love of what you’re doing and if you don’t love it, make a change. Find that something in life that drives you and ignites passion within you at the very thought of working on it. Be passionately curious about something. It’s the secret to success, creating a legacy for yourself, achieving genius and it’s how to get your ass in gear.
