Palcohol is the new “powdered alcohol” and it’s headed to the United States – soon to be available at your local liquor store.
All that’s currently left to do is step through some bureaucratic red tape – but palcohol looks poised and ready to acquire a rather large share of the alcoholic beverage market.
The news has already created alarm among different observers, who call it an irresistible prospect – especially for young people looking for the fastest way to get drunk.
That’s a valid concern. With a pill and powder form available, palcohol can be added to any food or drink and without the necessity to drink, it seems only a matter of time before we’ll be reading a news story about a palcohol overdose linked to death.
Bar owners have expressed concern, as well. With patrons having the ability to carry a powdered form of alcohol, what’s to keep many from ordering a soft drink and simply adding the liquor themselves? Bar room profits might well be on the decline.
Palcohol is set to hit the shelves in the Autumn of 2014. Educate those young people and as with any new substance you introduce to the body, use caution and educate yourself.
